Family Soccer Videos

You've read about the techincal soccer videos. so here are some of the fun soccer video titles for the soccer fans out there.

First is my children's current favorite.

A fun, often silly movie with Will Ferrell taking the role of a dad who takes on coaching his son's soccer team. Mike Ditka helps him out... don't expect ANYTHING serious here, but your children will probably love it.

My current favorite soccer movie, at least until I see the sequel, is Goal! - The Dream Begins. This movie is for the 12 and up crowd, following an illegal immigrant living in Los Angeles to a tryout for a team in England. A bit inspirational capturing some of the European excitement we don't see in the United States.

I can't wait to see the sequel!

Another new classic is based on a young woman who loves soccer, but her traditional Indian parents disapprove. Good for older children, especially girls looking for a positive fictional role model. Try Bend It Like Beckham (Widescreen Edition).

How about a soccer movie based in a WWII prisoner of war camp! Fortunately, Pele is there! Prisoners form a team (with goalkeeper Sylvester Stallone) to take on the German national term in Nazi Paris. Historical themes, great, for 10 and up. An oldie but goodie! Watch Victory

Do you have a soccer movie you think should be added to the list? Please let us know.

Have a great movie night!
